December is going to be knocking really loud in a few hours...Man! Where did November go?

Anyway, I don't know how your shopping is going on? I've actually come back from going to the malls last week. But sshhh...I really didn't shop for myself. My lucky daughters got what they wanted (like the lalaloopsy dolls and disney princess dolls). But my better half and I just didn't shop (Big pat on the back)

Mysore Sandal Soap

For those who have lived in  Bangalore, India will know how fancy and wonderful the sandal wood soap smells. For the longest time I thought the company manufacturing this sandal wood oil soap was closed...until I chanced to see this here. I am getting pretty nostalgic, because when I was younger, my mother would buy these soaps every year during Diwali. The company manufacturing this soap was founded in 1916 as  The Government Sandalwood Oil factory by the then Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishna Raja Wodeyar and his Diwan Sir M. Viveswaraya. It is now known as  Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. To know more about the this company and its unique sandalwood products please go here

I always seek  a Hindu Calendars which is not garish and the kinds that don't stick out like a sore thumb in a room. (I guess you know what I mean...the types that are overtly bright and you just want to stash them away once you are done with it for the month)

Friday Feature:TERYYO

"There is nothing that replaces a handwritten card" says Tery Young the creator behind TERYYO and I totally agree with her. 

Tery Young a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, USA began learning Hindi in the year 2007 along with her husband Landon and says learning Hindi "has truly opened our eyes to a new culture and a way of thinking. In addition to learning a new language, it has been a truly wonderful experience and adventure".

बधाई हो  or Congratulations 

After a refresher course on how to design cards and make hindi stamps, Tery decided to open her store TERYYO on etsy in August 2011. "My love of color, especially those found in Indian inspired prints along with the Hindi language, really goes into my thought process when I design my cards".  And these you can see  in her cards in Hindi  that say Badhaai Ho,Dhanyavaad and Maaf  Keejiye.

In addition to learning Hindi, Tery is learning Gujarati as well and says she enjoys it more than Hindi. Tery also says that she  is a foodie, enjoys travelling and loves to visit the local art museum.

Ethnic Indian Gold necklace with pearls, turquoise and coral

So excited to present this creation of mine - AhKriti Naisha.

I found this gorgeous gold pendant  handmade by an artisan from Jaipur, India. The beautiful red and blue petals on the pendant makes it really pretty. It took me nearly 20 days to find matching beads to go with this pendant. I finally did find them. So there are 41 beads in all in this necklace.
