This park is along the lakeshore area and is very picturesque.

With a cool breeze and lots of sunshine, it was just a perfect day for a picnic at the park.

Fabulous Friday Finds: Brocade Clutch purses

Hello there!

Are you a clutch purse kinda girl?

For the longest time I wasn't. I only remember my mom carrying one. But now that I am a mom to 2 girls and they are out of their diaper years, I just love carrying a light bag.

Anyway, nowadays, isn't it fun that we have such vibrant colors to choose from?

Ah! The Brocade clutch purses!

On my last visit to India, I did pick 2 for myself, but I wish I picked more.

Love the colours in this purse. Will go with most outfits.

And talking about lotus prints, I bought one recently. I am waiting its arrival.

Fabulous Friday Finds: Suzani decor

I love Suzani fabric and I do want to have them in my home.

For those who don't know what Suzani is….Suzani is a kind of embroidery which is predominantly found in Central Asia. Decorative threads are used on fabric with very bold and vibrant colours.

I found inspiration here…

I used to have a similar bedspread when I was growing up in India.

Introducing Ethnic Necklaces for March 2014 by Ahkriti

Hello! How was the week treating you so far?

I am really excited!

I've been really busy designing ethnic necklaces for March 2014.

My favorite paisleys! I was so excited to find a paisley pendant. Added a hint of rudraksha beads(which was stowed in the bead stash for almost a year). I love how this necklace turned out.

I don't know who will own this piece. But should this necklace remain in the SHOP until April end,  I think I will keep it. I find it so striking….I am in love with this one too!

Sigh!

Sometimes its tough to let go of your own creations. But aren't I lucky….coz I know where to get the supplies and make one more for myself in case they get SOLD.

Fabulous Friday Finds: Coffee Table Settings

I have 2 young daughters and there is no way I can have coffee table setting done at home. You will find toys, library books and other stuff that was not originally meant to be kept there.  Well, I'm going to try and do a re-arrangement of my coffee table today.

Here are a few inspirations for Coffee Table Settings.

I like the look of black and white on this table. Makes a statement with just the use of 2 main colors. Easy to find at home right?

How I 'd love to do this driftwood setting at home! My mom is an Ikebana teacher and enthusiast. If she were visiting us, I know she would be able to do this for me. Sigh!

Fabulous Friday Finds: Black and Gold

February is the month of love and red and pink and all things mushy.

But today my heart is tugging towards this combination of BLACK AND GOLD.

Fabulous Friday Finds: Gold Serving Decor for Christmas

You know when you walk into a Book store, you don't think much. You only think of buying books right?

Well, with all the marketing strategies nowadays, bookstores now not only keep books, they also keep jewelry (not happy with that because of you know why) and home decor!!!!

I was at the local Chapter's Store and I was actually giddy headed seeing these gold serving bowls and platters. I am going again in the weekend to get these after a bit of chatting with the hubby. I am hoping he will approve of at least the gold bowls. I need 6 of them.  You have to see them in person. They are really gift worthy too!

Fabulous Friday Finds: Orange Crush

Okay okay okay!

I've had way too much fun! Haven't really been designing any new jewelry in weeks! Summer is going away and I have to pull up my socks and get going with some new designs!

Anyway, where I live, its like the weather Gods are rethinking and saying hey you Canadians out there...you've had way too long a winter and spring, so let's give you some longer summer. Seriously, I remember the past 2 years, come September, we had to get our jackets out. 

Anyway, with all this rambling, I'm drifting away.
