After having such a fabulous vacation at Quebec city, coming back to a very muggy and rainy weather is beating my mood pretty Blue!

Recyled Sari Fashion and Feature at Khatta Mango

 Hello everyone! How are you all doing?

I've just been embroiled in stuff that sadly would bore you. But a good thing is you know I've been busy doing some new creations which I am so excited to show off. Will feature my new designs next month.

But anyway, don't you love what the model in the picture is wearing? That's a sari that has been redesigned to a dress. I love the color of the sari - a beautiful rust isn't it? Not to happy with what the dress looks like though.

Have you got a sari redesigned into something else? I've never done it, but I might do one.  But that would mean I have to find someone to design a dress for me. Gulp!

Birthdays and boys

The weekend was loud with 2 birthdays for 3 special boys. 

On Saturday, we attended fraternal twin boys 4th birthday and on Sunday we attended A's 6th birthday.  At an age, where I wish I could just stop the clock. Such wonder years and the innocence kids have. Well, thank heavens for cameras. We can treasure life's precious moments forever!

I am back!

Hello everyone! I am back...was away on a month's trip to SE Asia.

The family visited Manila, Singapore and Indonesia.

How have you all been?

The jet lag has finally ceded and the kids are back to the normal time. Seriously, after basking in such warm weather actually HOT weather, coming back to the brr here is a big change.

However home is home and it is sooo great to be back! Just like you see me jumping with my daughters at Sentosa Island, Singapore!

I had lost my DSLR camera in Manila, Phillipines. I was so devastated, but my husband bought me a new camera and boy my life seems so changed now. With a great shutter speed, this camera is something I am so happy and proud to have it. I will need some lessons though.

We had a great time at the Taman Safari, Indonesia.
Such great inter action with the animals of the wild, my girls had a such a blast. This is how close we were to feeding elephants.

The amount of carrots these animals were being fed on  a daily basis by visitors like us...I don't think they would be low in carotene at all.

Anyway, its Makar Sankranthi today. Makar Sankranthi in the Hindu calendar is the day of harvest.

My husband and I watched 2 bollywood movies "HOUSEFUL 2" and "BUMBOO" ! And well, we watched both of them like they are the best BOLLYWOOD FLICKS on earth.  Psst...if you want to torture somebody you know what movies to get them right?

When East Meets West

I hope you all have been having a fantastic time. I have been away from my creativity and designs for way too long and now I have the urge to start things afresh and get on the bandwagon to show you all some new creations.

Summer Lunch

How has summer been so far for you?

For me its been eventful! Its been really busy and actually enjoying every single day!

Anyway, today, I got to finally meet up with a friend "A". We come from the same city in India, Bangalore, but we've never been able to connect, thanks to our busy schedules. But this summer, we finally got to meet and today we got to catch up at my place.

Since "A" is very conscious about eating healthy I really did not have to do much thinking. I think its all in our mindset. Its pretty natural that we like eating fried foods and we Indians are pretty bad in it. I love munching on samosas and the fried foods and like and then I am wondering how on earth did I get so chubby?

Anyway, coming to the summer lunch that we had.
I had a very simple menu for today's summer lunch

A cucumber salad
Avacado and tomato salad
Vegetable Pulav
Fruit Salad

Salad made with tomato, basil, bocconcini cheese, basil and balsamic vinegar

Fruit salad - I had kiwi, pineapple, apple and strawberries all diced with mint as garnish.

It was a light summer lunch that we both enjoyed. "A" - So Good to have got together after so many years.

I wish summer would not end now. I've been having too much fun!

Decorating with Tinted lacquer

On my last visit to India I bought these tea light holders from Fab India and I love them.

And a friend of ours gave us this bowl which is from Bali, Indonesia. 

And in the latest catalogue of Ikea  I found these lacquer tinted vases/decor for the home. I am so excited!

N's Tea Party

My younger daughter N turned 3 recently and we had a tea party for her over the weekend. 

My elder daughter thought that making fans would be a great activity for the party.  A fantastic idea to which I thought they would also make great decorations on the wall.
