Today's Friday Feature is Incredible India an online store for handmade leather sandals. The brain behind these sandals is Vinod, who lives in Thiruvananthapuram (formerly Trivandrum), India.
Please tell us about yourself
My name is Vinod. I am a simple shoe maker from Thiruvananthapuram, South India. I live here with my wife, who first encouraged me to share my work on etsy. At first i thought nothing would come of it, but slowly but surely i started to sell, and now I devote most of my time to making the perfect custom made sandals and sending them all over the world!

Starting one’s own brand of sandals is incredible. So, what is Incredible India and what inspired you to start this business?
My wife - She is truly inspirational, and kept telling me how wonderful my sandals were...To my disbelief, after creating my shop, in one week only I had my first sale, so that also inspired me to keep going and create different designs. IncredibleIndia is a small obsession of mine...making shoes is a passion.

Did you have a background in design or manufacturing before you started Incredible India?
Being from India, a lot of poor people are shoe makers. My grandfather was a shoe maker, and a very poor man. Making and repairing shoes in the local village. Since I was a child, I would go with him to the market every saturday, and gradually I learned to make sandals. He still visits me occasionally to tell me that I am making them wrong!
What is unique about your product?
My products are handmade with love and care entirely by me. I use only the best quality leather, and varnish to create a beautiful sandal. I can create almost anything.

Based on your online success, any advice for budding entrepreneurs?
Just try your best, keep your items simple and stylish, advertise well and do not be too greedy as many are! Keep your prices reasonable!

From among the chappels in India I love the Kolhapuri chappel the most as it is just fantastic and gives a good feel when one have it on his foot.
